Big Changes - Organic Fair Trade Sugar

Big Changes - Organic Fair Trade Sugar

We want to take a moment to share an exciting update about our product that is close to our hearts. We are always seeking ways to enhance our fudge not just in taste, but also in the positive impact it has on the world.

We are thrilled to announce that we have switched to using fair trade, organic sugar in our goat milk fudge. This is a change that we have been working towards for some time, and it aligns perfectly with our commitment to creating the highest quality, most ethical products (which is why we have also been palm oil free from the beginning). We have been testing this new brand for several months and have finally switched over!

Why is this important?

Fair trade certification ensures that farmers and workers receive fair wages and work in acceptable conditions. It also guarantees that sustainable farming practices are used, preserving the health and well-being of our beautiful planet. Choosing fair trade means choosing a product that supports a cycle of positive impact.

Organic farming, on the other hand, means healthier soils, safer working conditions, and no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. It's a way of growing sugar that is better for the environment and better for the health of the farmers who harvest it, and for the people who eat our fudge. Since fudge is a candy made from mostly sugar, having sugar that is natural and grows without toxic chemicals is so important! The sugar is more expensive and harder for us to source in Vermont, but we have made this change without increasing our prices.

When you purchase our goat milk fudge, you aren't just indulging in a treat, but are actively supporting families owning sugarcane plantations who are striving to make a better life for themselves and their communities. You're saying yes to sustainable, ethical farming and the assurance of a sweeter future for all.

We believe that these changes will enhance our fudge, while also aligning with our commitment to fostering a more equitable and sustainable world.

Thank you for your continued support and for being a part of this important step forward.
